From my oven

A slice from every angle

Three slices of pizza with cheese and a pink diced topping on a white cutting board.
The top: browned cheese and a pink diced topping.

For this December pizza, I photographed more than the top. The first view shows slices on the board, with cheese and a pink diced topping. Then the camera drops to the edge, where the thinner center meets the taller rim.

The underside gets its own photograph too. Looking at all three views gives a better record of the bake than the cheese alone: the topping, the pockets in the crust and the color underneath are all visible. The camera dates these pictures to the evening of December 1.

A side view of a pizza slice showing its raised crust and air pockets.
The edge: a thin center and a more open rim.
The underside of a pizza slice held above the cutting board.
The underside, with its light surface and darker toasted marks.

From my phone photo archive. A photo diary from my original phone photographs and their capture dates, with visual observations about the pizza.
