An evening at the baking stone

This January evening left a fuller record than a single picture of dinner. One pizza is already on the cutting board, covered with browned cheese and small pink pieces that look like ham. A slice held sideways brings the crust into view: a thin center leading into a rim with much larger pockets inside.

The photographs then follow another pizza through the kitchen. There is an untopped base on a screen, followed by red sauce and sliced onion on a round baking stone inside the oven. A later oven photo shows cheese melting over the raised bubbles. Those views put the home oven and the stone directly into the story.

The final table photo brings the sequence back to dinner. The pictures show the assembly and the change in the topping clearly; they do not preserve a dough formula or an oven setting. What survives is a small, useful record of a whole evening of making pizza.
