Cheese takes center stage

Cheese is the main event in this August 20 pizza session. My first photographs show a broad, lightly colored rim surrounding a nearly continuous layer of cheese, with a few raised bubbles breaking up the surface. On the white cutting board, the contrast between the pale edge and the golden center is easy to see.

The later photo catches a much deeper color across the top, with the pizza held on a round screen. Together, the pictures preserve two stages of the evening. They also leave one question open: whether the later view is another pizza or an additional bake of the first one.
