Pizza Party with Bluey
Photographed · Shared on Facebook

Pizza Party with Bluey. The photos from this Monterey evening tell the whole sequence: toppings spread across the counter, another pizza waiting on a wooden peel, a temperature check inside the kitchen oven, and slices being eaten with Bluey on television.
The finished pizza in the sunlight has a generously puffed, uneven rim, red sauce, white cheese, tomato pieces and torn green leaves that look like basil. Another pizza is still at the assembly stage, covered with sliced and shredded cheese and small pink pieces that appear to be ham. There was more than one combination moving through the kitchen.
I also photographed the infrared thermometer pointed at the baking surface. Its display reads 421.3°F, a glimpse of the checking that went into the evening rather than a complete record of the bake. The last part of the story is easier to read: pizzas cut up on the counter, a slice in hand, and Bluey keeping us company.
