We made pepperoni pizza

By the time this pepperoni pizza made it into a photograph, several slices were already gone. I shared it on March 3, 2010 with a short update: “We made pepperoni pizza the other day!” It is one of the earliest homemade pies in this collected pizza archive.

There is no elaborate presentation here: the remaining pizza sits on paper towels, with red sauce showing between uneven patches of melted cheese. The low rim and exposed cut edge give it a very different profile from some of the taller, puffier pizzas that appear later in the journal.

The caption records the part that matters most to this little snapshot: we made it ourselves. The photograph picks up the story after dinner had already started, preserving an ordinary homemade pizza before the rest of it was gone.
